FAYETTEVILLE
MET THE CHALLENGE FROM MAESTRO FOUAD FAKHOURI
FSO's
First Texas Hold'Em Poker Tournament & Casino Night Fundraiser
On Friday, June 27, 2008, the FSO's Music
Director/Conductor orchestrated the FSO's First Texas Hold'Em Poker
Tournament & Casino Night Fundraiser at the Eutaw Conference
Center in Fayetteville, NC. The event was a success as patrons
turned out to go all-in. Fayetteville placed their bets on the FSO
by support at this event. The many players put their best poker faces
forward trying to hide their anxiousness/joy in taking on
Fayetteville
Symphony Orchestra Music Director/Conductor Fouad Fakhouri personally
at the Texas Hold'Em Poker Tables. The night started off with poker
players hitting the tables, but soon, all the gaming tables,
including roulette and craps among others, were bustling with
business.
Maestro
Fakhouri climbed the ranks in the poker tournament until he was
bested just before the last three players battled for first place.
Fakhouri took the loss in stride and started up a couple of side
poker games outside of the final tournament table. Steve Vanderberk
won big at the Texas Hold'Em Poker Tournament –
winning a first place trophy and one of the actual poker tables! Patrons racked up all night, trading their winnings for raffle tickets for the big prize raffle giveaway at the end of the night.
“I
thought I was going to miss this great night due to out-of-town
business, but I was ecstatic when I found out I'd be in town for this
event!” one Patron told the staff at the registration table.
Another patron added, “Events like these are so exciting and fun.
I can't wait to play again next year.”
The
sponsors anted up funds to help seed this fundraiser, and turned out
in full support for a night of fun and excitement! We would like to
thank the sponsors for their generosity and making the night a
success:
