Grijda Spiri – Violin

Grijda Spiri is an internationally recognized violinist and a well-sought-after violin teacher in the triangle area. She has played in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Leonidas Kavakos, Tedi Papavrami, Peter Seymoure and Stanley Ritchie.

Her musical journey began in Greece where she was trained as a violinist and pianist under her father’s tutelage. As a result, in 2013, she earned bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance (Ionian University of Corfu, Greece) as well as Piano Performance (Tsakalof Conservatoire). In 2016, she accomplished her Master’s Degree at UNC-Greensboro and she is currently pursuing her doctorate degree at the same University with Dr. Fabian Lopez.

She is a winner of several competitions and earned numerous accolades. Her notable accomplishments are first prizes in National Greek Competitions in both violin and piano for consecutive years and representing Greece as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Tsakalof at the UNESCO Festival.

She is currently an active musician, performing with Fayetteville Symphony, Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle and Wilmington Symphony Orchestra.

The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1956 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and is a professional, regional orchestra whose mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire the citizens of the Fayetteville, North Carolina region as the leading musical resource.  Praised for its artistic excellence, the Symphony leads in the cultural and educational landscape for Fayetteville and the southeastern North Carolina region.

The Fayetteville Symphony performs 6-8 concerts during any given season performing both at Methodist University and Fayetteville State University. Partnerships with other arts agencies include collaborative performances with Cape Fear Regional Theatre, chamber concerts at St. John’s Episcopal Church, as well as a military appreciation concert held over Memorial Day Weekend. The Symphony brings music to the schools and the community by performing educational concerts, as well as having its own Fayetteville Symphony Youth Orchestra and Summer Music Camps.
