CONGRATULATIONS TO DOMINIC MERCURIO ,

THE FSO 2007-2008 HARLAN DUENOW YOUNG ARTISTS CONCERTO COMPETITION WINNER!

The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra 2007-2008 Harlan Duenow Young Artists Concerto Competition finals were held on Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Methodist University.  The semi-finalists all performed extremely well.  Due to the amount of talent in the final auditions, the selection committee's decisions were exceedingly difficult to make.

The winner of the competition was Dominic Mercurio, a 16 year old pianist.  He received the $1,000 Harlan Duenow Scholarship, as well as the opportunity to perform with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra at the 2008 "Holiday Celebration" Concert at Berean Baptist Church on Saturday, December 13, 2008.  He performed Capriccio Brilliant for piano and orchestra.
