The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra's patrons' appetites were whetted at the third lecture in the insightful Symphony @ Your Library Free Pre-Concert Lecture Series, on Thursday, April 17, 7-9PM, at Headquarters Library in Downtown Fayetteville. The featured speaker and author of the April 26 FSO Concert program notes, Dr. Janita Byars, Professor of Music at UNC-Pembroke, inspired the audience with her insight into the music and parallels between Beethoven's and Stravinsky's work and lives. Also featured were a Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra String Quartet (Gayane Grigoryan, violin; Amanda Krauss, violin; Myra Yeung, viola; Stephen Duran, cello) who moved the audience with a performance of Beethoven Quartet Op 74, E-flat Major, First Movement, as a teaser for the Symphony's Season Finale Concert "Beethoven and Stravinsky" on April 26 at Methodist University Reeves Auditorium at 8:00PM.
