Quintin Mallette – Percussion
Quintin Mallette is a percussionist and educator in the Northeast Georgia region performing across many genres including Jazz, Orchestral, contemporary/avant-garde, musical theatre, and popular music. He has appeared in performance with several world class musicians including McCoy Tyner, Bill Richards, Arthur Lipner, and Timothy K Adams Jr., including an a guest artists appearances with the Verge Ensemble as a part of their “When Kandisnky met Schoenberg” series at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. He has also appeared in performances at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Music Center at Strathmore, and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. As an advocate for contemporary music, Quintin has premiered several new works including most recently the Georgia premier of composer Kevin Ernst’s AdWords/Edward, the first work written for Google Glass. Active as a freelance musician, Quintin has appeared with various orchestras and chamber groups across the southeast including the Savannah Philharmonic, Verge Ensemble, and Washington Soloist Ensemble. Quintin is a proud member of the QROSS percussion duo, and the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra in North Carolina. Quintin is currently pursuing his DMA in percussion performance from the University of Georgia, where he studies with Timothy K. Adams Jr. In addition to his studies, Quintin is the percussion instructor for Oconee County High School, maintains a small private studio, and teaches Percussion Methods at the University of Georgia. Quintin currently resides in Hull, GA with his wife Jacquelyn and two children, Cadence and Dorian.
