Anna Meyer – Executive Director

Originally from Durham, North Carolina, Anna Meyer is the Executive Director of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra in Fayetteville, NC. Anna is a member of the Fayetteville Observer’s “40 Under 40” Class of 2023, an award she won for “taking the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra to new heights in the areas of program expansion, inclusion, variety of programming and concert venues, attendance, and diversity of audiences.” (Fayetteville Observer, 2023). Prior to her appointment as Executive Director, Anna served as the symphony’s Community Engagement Manager. Anna is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where she studied theatre arts and leadership. She spent several years working as a stage manager in Minneapolis, MN before transitioning into the arts administration field. Anna is passionate about supporting artists in creating for their communities, and enjoys working with artists, patrons, and sponsors. In her free time Anna enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.

The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1956 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and is a professional, regional orchestra whose mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire the citizens of the Fayetteville, North Carolina region as the leading musical resource.  Praised for its artistic excellence, the Symphony leads in the cultural and educational landscape for Fayetteville and the southeastern North Carolina region.

The Fayetteville Symphony typically performs 8 concerts during any given season performing both at Methodist University and Fayetteville State University. Partnerships with other agencies include collaborative performances with Cape Fear Regional Theatre, chamber concerts at St. John’s Episcopal Church, as well as the city’s annual Independence concert with fireworks. The Symphony brings music to the schools and the community by performing educational concerts, as well as having its own Fayetteville Symphony Youth Orchestra, after school strings and summer music camps.
