Jazz&Wine Fest – October 2015 »

Despite the severe weather moving us indoors, our first annual Jazz&Wine Fest brought in some great music and company! Jazz bands from Methodist University, ECU and Duke performed, and the a cappella group Grains of Times from NC State also performed.

Diamonds and Daffodils Gala – April 2015 »

We concluded our 2014-2015 season with our Diamonds and Daffodils Gala in celebration of Maestro Fakhouri’s 10th anniversary with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra. The event was held at the lake home of Mr. Will Gillis, with good music, food, drinks, and of course, a wonderful crowd! Read more

Amadeus with CFRT – March 2015 »

On March 20th and 21st, 2015 we partnered for the second time with Cape Fear Regional Theatre to perform the production of Amadeus. This production was seen by over 1,000 students in the Cumberland County Schools, as well as two audiences: one at Seabrook Auditorium, Fayetteville State University, and the second at Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines. With a 60 person orchestra, a 100+ person choir, and the actors from CFRT, this is a production and partnership we were so very fortunate to be a part of! Read more

Memorial Day Weekend Concert 2014 »

We joined together again with the Army Ground Forces Band of Ft. Bragg to perform our second annual free Salute to the U.S. Armed Forces concert! The Ground Forces Jazz Guardians performed famous big band pieces such as In the Mood, along with the Ground Forces Dixie Sergeants performing some good ol’ dixie jazz, and the symphony performed pieces such as Summon the Heroes by John Williams and Lincoln Portrait, featuring Major General Les Carroll as narrator. The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1956 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and is a professional, regional orchestra whose mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire the citizens of the Fayetteville, North Carolina region as the leading musical resource.  Praised for its artistic excellence, the Symphony leads in the cultural and educational landscape for Fayetteville and the southeastern North Carolina region.

The Fayetteville Symphony typically performs 8 concerts during any given season performing both at Methodist University and Fayetteville State University. Partnerships with other agencies include collaborative performances with Cape Fear Regional Theatre, chamber concerts at St. John’s Episcopal Church, as well as the city’s annual Independence concert with fireworks. The Symphony brings music to the schools and the community by performing educational concerts, as well as having its own Fayetteville Symphony Youth Orchestra, after school strings and summer music camps.
