Double bassist, J. Christopher Buddo has performed with orchestras in the South and
Mid-West including: the Fort Worth Symphony, the Waco Symphony (Principal Bass),
the Des Moines Symphony, the Quad-City Symphony (Assistant Principal Bass), and
the Roanoke Symphony. He has appeared with festivals in Door County, Wisconsin
and Bedford Springs, Pennsylvania. As a conductor he has led numerous university
opera productions, he was the director of the Iowa City Youth Orchestra, and he was
the founding conductor of the Waco Symphony Youth Orchestra. He has held faculty
and administrative positions at Baylor University and is currently on the faculty at East
Carolina University. At ECU he served as Director of the School of Music then Dean of
the College of Fine Arts and Communication before becoming the Hardy
Distinguished Professor of String Pedagogy and Double Bass.
